Our Eco-circle gloves are designed to save tomorrow and are totally recyclable. There are no limitations on how many times the shell can be recycled and the process is more energy efficient than using virgin materials. Swany has developed the first closed loop recyclable glove. The eco-circle glove starts with a shell fabric made from recycled material. We then use recyclable insulation as well as recyclable waterproof inserts making the glove shell 100% recyclable. We use a digitized polyurethane material for the palm which is removed in the US before the shell is shipped overseas to Teijins recycling plant in Japan; the palm material is recycled here in the US.
Here is how the Eco-circle works:
- · Swany purchases the recyclable materials and produces a glove.

· The glove is sold to a retail store and the store in turn sells the glove to the end user.

· The end user or skier or boarder uses the glove for several years until it is worn out.

· The glove is returned to Swany in an Eco friendly envelope (provided) or returned to the store.

· Swany receives the glove and removes the palm and ships the glove in bulk to the recycler Teijin.

· Teijin will grind the glove and process it, making it back into yarn and ultimately fabric.
While recycling the fabric the process will reduce CO2 emissions by 77% and requires 84% less energy than producing the polyester material from virgin materials.
Once the recycling process is complete and the recycled yarn is woven back into polyester fabric, the recycled polyester fabric will be made into a glove and the process starts all over again.
The amazing part is, there is no limit to the number of times the polyester glove can be recycled, you could be wearing the same glove recycled 6 or 7 times. Swany Eco gloves are forever.
