James P McCormick • Mt. Washington, NH
Last March I summitted Mt. Washington wearing a pair of toasters, with which I was certainly satisfied in the way of warmth. I sacrificed my L.L. Bean gloves for my toasters and I would say that was a good choice. If I recall correctly the air temperature was in the single digits, with relatively calm 35 knot winds toward the summit. The conditions fluctuated heavily that day but thanks to my mittens I was just fine. The kicker is that 2 days after my climb and raving to my mountaineering/skiing... Read Full Story. |

Regards,
James... Read Full Story. |

Saved By The Band
One winter day upon the Chair 11,
We zoomed up the tram, knowing that we were approaching heaven.
Near the top and after a nibbled snack,

I suddenly realized that my grasp on my prized Swanys was not so neat.
I thought I had dropped them right out of my hand,
But was pleasantly reminded and saved by the elastic "keeper" band.
These gloves are mine forever...thanks to... Read Full Story. |

Julia Schwarz • Whistler, BC
I've always wanted to juggle while skiing. As a ski instructor, I know that juggling can be the small thing that really brightens my students' day. Unfortunately, the wide, cumbersome build of my previous gloves had always inhibited my ability to juggle while skiing: it was too hard to get a good grip on the balls or juggling clubs. When I tried on my Swany gloves this year I immediately noticed the precision and control that these gloves gave me: they would be perfect for juggling with! On my f... Read Full Story. |

Allen Stern • Okemo Vermont
I was skiing at Okemo Mountain in Vermont last year where I had a heart attack and was dead for about 5 minutes. Thanks to the efforts of the Ski patrol who happened to be there during all of this, I am alive today. They immediately took action and used an automatic defibrilator to paddle me back to life. When I came to the hospital and was told that I may not ski again, I had no will to live. I started skiing at the age of 40 and now at the age of 56, skiing is not only my passion of my life, b...
